Well that makes two of us.
Iam also waiting for my new gear.
Ive red several topics about upgrading hardware in this forum and I knew that I had to buy new stuff if I ever wanted to play SF at decent level.
Sooo I bought a new system just below the top, (lots cheaper than the latest hotties eh) but its a nice comp I will get.
Took me almost a week to decide but here it is, 8 items.
I went for the 939 nforce4 standard, just the ultimate gamer standard at this moment if you have seen what the other goodies cost.
No dual core cpu for me or even SLI, simply not needed at this moment for games.
I took the ABIT KN8 Ultra with an AMD64 3700+ cpu (watch the 1 meg L2 cache inside )
I put 2 gigs of twinmos pc 3200 400ddr dimm for its dualchannel capability.
For the eyecandy Ive choosen the Sapphire RADEON X850 XT PE, look for the 16 parallel pixel pipelines and the 6 parallel vertex processing engines.
That vidcard is the latest of its serie in that range at this moment.
As harddisk I took the Hitachi Deskstar T7K250, 250gigs , already sataII prepared, it will have rocketspeed at raid 0.
For my fun I took the NEV ND-4551A dvd reader/writer
It has toys like double layer writing, labelflash(another word for lightscribe functionality) and direct ram access.
Because I had to sell my intentions to some woman called ElektrA, I took a metall look case,Xazer Swing middletower.
She loves metall look thingy's and loves even more the smell of metall, yup I know the way to get that woman hot, so a nice metall look case would do the job here.
To power up this contraption I found a 450w Realpower Coolermaster , one of the more silent type PSU's i was told.
Like I said earlier, for every component there are better, but the investment would be huge.
The price/quality index is oki in my eyes.
Looking forwards to it every minute.
